The call for application for travel grants for the "The 10th EFCC Continuous Postgraduate Course in Clinical Chemistry, NEW TRENDS IN CLASSIFICATION, DIAGNOSIS AND MANAGEMENT OF THROMBOPHILIA", Dubrovnik, 23-24 October 2010, is now closed. Course organizers are European Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (EFCC), Croatian Society of Medical Biochemists (CSMB), Slovenian Association for Clinical Chemistry and European Thrombosis Research Organization (ETRO).

There were 26 young applicants from 15 countries. 13 grants are kindly provided by European Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (EFCC), 2 by Inter-University Centre (IUC) from Dubrovnik and 5 by Abbott Laboratories, Croatia.

EFCC grant winners are: Luljeta, Hoxha (Albania), Tomaš Šalek (Czech Republic), Michal Cipok (Israel), Alessandra Malato (Italy), Aleksandra Atanasova Boshku (Macedonia), Ann-Helen Kristoffersen (Norway), Izabella Eva Szasz (Romania), Mirjana Šefik Bukilica (Serbia), Ana Radović (Serbia), Nina Gajšek (Slovenia), Mustafa Serkan Yalcin (Turkey), Sofiya Madych (Ukraine) and Anna Michno (United Kingdom).

IUC grant winners are: Jasenka Wagner (Osijek, Croatia) and Marija Milić (Osijek, Croatia).

Abbott Laboratories (Croatia) grant winners are: Dragana Antočić (Rijeka, Croatia), Josipa Kuleš (Zagreb, Croatia), Nikolina Puc (Koprivnica, Croatia), Marina Čeprnja Šimat (Zagreb, Croatia) and Jelena Culej (Zagereb, Croatia).

I wish to bring to your attention the prestigious EFCC/ Labs-are-Vital Award for Excellence in Outcomes Research in Laboratory Medicine. The Award will be issued for the first time during the EFCC Euromedlab/IFCC Worldlab 2011 in Berlin, and is combined with a certificate of recognition as well as a sum of 15.000 Euros.
